For the second and perhaps easier method, we divide 16 by 6 to see if the quotient is a whole number or fractional number. If the quotient is a whole number, then 6 is a factor of 16. If the quotient is a fractional number, then 6 is not a factor of 16.

16 divided by 6 is 2.666666667 which is a fractional number. Thus, once again, the answer to "Is 6 a factor of 16?" is no.
