The first method entails simply listing all factors of 10 and then seeing if 6 is one of them. The factors of 10 are 1, 2, 5, and 10. Looking at the list, you see that 6 is not on the list, and the answer to "Is 6 a factor of 10?" is therefore no.

For the second and perhaps easier method, we divide 10 by 6 to see if the quotient is a whole number or fractional number. If the quotient is a whole number, then 6 is a factor of 10. If the quotient is a fractional number, then 6 is not a factor of 10.

10 divided by 6 is 1.666666667 which is a fractional number. Thus, once again, the answer to "Is 6 a factor of 10?" is no.
