Here we will show you two different methods you can use to determine if 35 is a factor of 5.
The first method entails simply listing all factors of 5 and then seeing if 35 is one of them. The factors of 5 are 1 and 5. Looking at the list, you see that 35 is not on the list, and the answer to "Is 35 a factor of 5?" is therefore no.
For the second and perhaps easier method, we divide 5 by 35 to see if the quotient is a whole number or fractional number. If the quotient is a whole number, then 35 is a factor of 5. If the quotient is a fractional number, then 35 is not a factor of 5.
5 divided by 35 is 0.142857143 which is a fractional number. Thus, once again, the answer to "Is 35 a factor of 5?" is no.
