Here we will show you two different methods you can use to determine if 35 is a factor of 28.
The first method entails simply listing all factors of 28 and then seeing if 35 is one of them. The factors of 28 are 1, 2, 4, 7, 14, and 28. Looking at the list, you see that 35 is not on the list, and the answer to "Is 35 a factor of 28?" is therefore no.
For the second and perhaps easier method, we divide 28 by 35 to see if the quotient is a whole number or fractional number. If the quotient is a whole number, then 35 is a factor of 28. If the quotient is a fractional number, then 35 is not a factor of 28.
28 divided by 35 is 0.8 which is a fractional number. Thus, once again, the answer to "Is 35 a factor of 28?" is no.
