Here we will show you two different methods you can use to determine if 13 is a factor of 80.
The first method entails simply listing all factors of 80 and then seeing if 13 is one of them. The factors of 80 are 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 16, 20, 40, and 80. Looking at the list, you see that 13 is not on the list, and the answer to "Is 13 a factor of 80?" is therefore no.
For the second and perhaps easier method, we divide 80 by 13 to see if the quotient is a whole number or fractional number. If the quotient is a whole number, then 13 is a factor of 80. If the quotient is a fractional number, then 13 is not a factor of 80.
80 divided by 13 is 6.153846154 which is a fractional number. Thus, once again, the answer to "Is 13 a factor of 80?" is no.
